Chasing the Panther: The Absence of Colour in Comic Books, is a three-part half hour radio documentary series produced by Zyphus Lebrun. The production explores the history of black characters in mainstream comics, why they have been so marginalized and the effort to push for more diversity in the bullpen and on the pages.
The documentary was produced in 2005 and features the voices of some comic book industry greats such as the late Dwayne McDuffie, a pioneering writer who was one of the founders of DC’s first minority comic book imprint, Milestone Comics. Milestone featured black and other minority characters in major roles.
